Alvium UV Cameras equipped with Sony UV CMOS sensor
The four Alvium UV models incorporate the innovative 8.1 MP Sony Pregius S IMX487 CMOS sensor specially designed for the waveband between 200 nm to 400 nm.
The smallest industrial grade ultraviolet imaging device on the market!
Alvium UV models incorporate the innovative 8.1 MP Sony Pregius S IMX487 CMOS sensor specially designed for the waveband between 200 nm to 400 nm. This makes them suitable for many industrial and scientific imaging applications in the near- and mid-UV range requiring high quality UV images with low noise at high resolution and frame rates. Similar to SWIR you can reveal with UV light special spectral features, but can also visualize smallest defects and to reveal hidden faults invsible to the human eye. Alvium UV models are available with USB, CSI-2 (incl. FPD-Link3 and GSML2 range extender), as well as GigE and 5 GigE Vision interface.

Applications
Semiconductor Inspection
Semiconductor manufacturing requires accurate inspections to detect tiny contaminants and pattern defects in wafer and photomask production processes. Ultraviolet (UV) light, with its short wavelength, is highly sensitive to surface irregularities. Alvium UV cameras utilize this property to spot defects in microscopic objects. They stands out for their exceptional sensitivity and minimal noise, enabling high-precision inspections.
Plastic Sorting
Unlike a visible light camera, Alvium UV can distinguish materials like plastics or glass that are transparent under regular light by capitalizing on the distinct UV transmittance levels of various materials. This makes Alvium UV cameras a valuable tool in recycling sites.
Corona Discharge
As electric power infrastructure ages, the degradation of power lines can lead to electrical discharge, accompanied by the release of ultraviolet radiation. Corona discharges typically become visible in the ultraviolet (UV) wavelength range. They can lead to power loss, radio frequency interference, and even damage to the power line equipment itself. Equipped with dedicated filters Alvium UV cameras can visualize such Corona discharges to simplify an early detection of deteriorating components within the power system. Timely maintenance and repairs based on UV imaging can help reduce downtime and prevent costly equipment failures.
