Your tasks
- You will be responsible for operational customs clearance, execution of shipments, exports and imports with various carriers.
- You ensure compliance with customs regulations and laws to facilitate the movement of goods across international borders.
- You assist in preparing customs declarations and documents.
- You apply for Export Licenses or Tariff Rulings of Dual-Use goods.
- You collect information for filing CAD/B3 documents with CARM.
- You prepare Declarations of Origin with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and generate CUSMA trade documents.
- You support customs-related inspections or CBSA audits.
- You check for existing licensing requirements, restrictions or prohibitions to ensure compliance with customs regulations and laws.
- You carry out sanctions list checks based on internal guidelines and evaluate potential hits with “E2 Open” blacklist software.
- You will coordinate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to support with correct delivery conditions and customs procedures.
Your profile
- You have an apprenticeship in the field of wholesale and foreign trade, freight forwarding, logistics services or a comparable qualification as a Customs Specialist or Customs Broker license.
- You have extensive professional experience in operational customs clearance, export control, and import processing of goods from a third country regarding returned goods and repair processing.
- You already work with internal interfaces and external carrier service providers as well as local customs offices.
- You have expert knowledge of current national and international export control laws, trade agreements, and regulations.
- You have good knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, international business and order processing.
- You have familiarity with CBSA and GAC web-based access portals, applications, and filing processes.
- You communicate with excellent English skills in person or email.
